"Escaping the Nether with Pause & Beef" is a stand-alone video starring Team Canada (Etho, PauseUnpause, and Vintagebeef). The 1.16 Nether Update had come out at the time, making it possible to start a world in the nether and leave. The team spends this video leaving the nether as a challenge.

With the Minecraft 1.16 Nether Update, it is now much more possible to survive solely in the Nether. Today Team Canada joins together to experience what it is like to start in the Nether with nothing and escape it through a portal.

Etho introduces the viewers to the concept of the video, where they see how hard it is to go to the overworld from the nether starting from scratch. Pause jokingly says he is good at speedruning, and knows too much, forcing Etho and VintageBeef to do everything themselves. They start with finding and mining wood and creating wooden tools. A hoglin tries to attack Pause, he survives, but then falls in lava. Some piglins try to attack Etho, but he escapes. He works his way into a base with the team.
The team continues to try and find blackstone, which is needed to get better tools. Pause tries to attack a hoglin and ends up dying. A piglin comes up to Etho and kills him as well. They build a quick house with supplies for if they die again.
